W M Murray Limited is now offering Solar PV as part of our renewable business. We are accredited under the Micro generation Certification Scheme (MCS NIC 2628) and a NICEIC Approved Installer. We are also members of Renewable Energy Assurance (REAL).
As a company we will only use proven equipment which is why we have chosen to use:
- Dimplex Renewable -Solar PV Panels & mounting systems. Dimples is a well known brand in both public and private sectors where the brand has become synonymous with a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. This will give our customers extra confidence in a name they can trust.
- Feronius Invertors -The Fronius IG series has proven itself to be powerful, user-friendly and highly reliable. Equipped for every size of PV system, especially for smaller systems (e.g. on the roof of one-family houses). The combination of different types available for selection is limitless. The ingenious processor control combined with the powerful HF transformer extracts the maximum energy yield from all types of modules.
As part of our package we offer a 25 year warranty on all panels & invertors giving the client peace of mind for the full duration of their feed in tariff. We also offer a free health check on the system after the first year. All installation of roof mounting systems will be carried out along with experienced roofing contractors to ensure there is no damage to the integrity of the roof.
| In the light of ever rising energy costs, climate change and changing legislation, the need for low carbon electricity producing technology that is future proof, cost effective and able to use an unlimited, sustainable source of energy is paramount. | ![]() |
Using free energy from the sun to produce electricity, solar PV panels produce their energy from daylight, rather than solar radiation, meaning energy is produced even on cloudy days. Suitable for homes, businesses, school or community buildings and with no moving parts, solar PV provides one of the easiest and most reliable ways to future proof against rising energy costs whilst reducing CO2 emissions. With the introduction of the Government's clean energy cash back scheme, investing in solar PV to generate a building's electrical needs has never made more sense.
How Solar PV Works
Solar relies on daylight to generate power through use of photovoltaic cells within roof mounted panels (modules). These modules are generally fixed to a roof and connected by cabled into an invertor. This converts the DC electricity produced by the modules to AC (the same as the electricity that comes from the National Grid) which is either consumed within the property or sold back to the power supplier.

Benefits of Solar PV Generation tariff - your energy supplier will pay you a set rate for each unit (or kWh) of electricity you generate. Once your system has been registered, the tariff levels are guaranteed for the period of the tariff (up to 25 years) and are index-linked. For a full list of generations tariffs, see FIT payment rates published by the Government. Export tariff - you will get a further 3.1p/kWh from your energy supplier for each unit you export back to the electricity grid, so you can sell any electricity you generate but don't use yourself. This rate is the same for all technologies. At some stage smart meters will be installed to measure what you export, but until then it is estimated as being 50% of the electricity you generate. Energy bill savings - you will be making savings on your electricity bills, because generating electricity to power your appliances means you don't have to buy as much electricity from your energy supplier. The amount you will save will vary depending how much of the electricity you use on site. Adding value to the property and adding to your green credentials

A typical domestic solar electricity system with an installation size of 3.68kWp could earn:
- £1147.28 a year from the Generation Tariff
- £42.00 a year from the Export Tariff
- £371.00 a year reduction of current electricity bills
To give a total saving of around £1,505.00 per year. Total income saving over 25 years £37,637.00.
